Gvarv is a town in Midt-Telemark municipality. Situated in one of Norway’s largest fruit districts, Gvarv is a self-proclaimed fruit capital of Norway.
It is in Gvarv the national Apple Fest takes place, and much of the business life in the neighbourhood is built around that gold hanging on the trees. Every third apple that is eaten in Norway is produced in Midt-Telemark, and the added value in the form of processed fruit- and berry products is an important source of income for many of those living here.

Company profile
The production of apples has undergone a major development over the past 40 years. The biggest development happened in the 80’s, when slender spindles/high density apple systems were introduced as a cultivation method.
It was a big transition from the voluminous crown trees of the time to a tree that had a central trunk and production branches from this. Further development of this planting method has led to an increase of the number of trees per acre from approx. 70 trees until approx. 300 trees per acre.
This development means that we at Fimex must constantly adjust in relation to the direction production chooses to go and ensure that the necessary inputs are in place.
Fimex has close ties to an innovative cultivation environment in the municipality, and benefits from both the knowledge we have built up ourselves, as well as the experiences that the local producers share with us. Fimex is a dynamic company that wants to take part in the development of all industries within agriculture.
That is also the reason we have developed relationships with the best suppliers from 12 different countries. As of today, we have succeeded in being able to deliver throughout the season. We at Fimex are proud of our quality choices when it comes to both equipment for establishment as well as machines and equipment for running a fruit- and berry garden. And, of course, customer follow-up and service are a priority.
